The Department of Youth
The Department of Youth exists to develop the full potential of the youth of Somaliland and actively promote their participation in personal, community and national development.
- Formulating, implementing, coordinating, reviewing and monitoring youth development policies
- Facilitating youth participation in the development processes
- Coordinating and monitoring youth led initiatives
- Advocating and promoting youth led initiatives
- Developing youth resource centers
- Provide leadership for and function as the primary staff person relating to the YM
- Oversee the recruitment and training of adult volunteers to work with Middle and High School age
- Plan and implement age appropriate activities for Middle and High School age youth that promote. Community through fellowship, fun and faith development. Such activities might include; development presentations, retreats and service projects

- mentoring or counselling individual young people
- managing budgets
- applying for project funding
- maintaining confidential records
- writing and presenting reports
- facilitating workshops in schools and community settings
- Working with other organizations, such as schools, community groups and the police
